  1. What is the active ingredient of Proveq MPCB?  
  Proveq MPCB tablets contain herbal extract from Rhizoma Fagopyri dibotryis (also known as Fagopyrum cymosum Meisn or Golden Buckwheat). The herb, Rhizoma Fagopyri dibotryis, has been conventionally employed by traditional Chinese herbalists to treat lung conditions. Each tablet contains 0.7 g of the herbal extract, equivalent to 7 g of Rhizoma Fagopyri dibotryis.
 
 
  2. How does Proveq MPCB work?  
 

Studies on the chemical constituents of Proveq MPCB revealed it to be composed of three chemical components.

Component A is the main constituent in MPCB and account for its pronounced therapeutic effect on pulmonary conditions. Component A contains flavonoid pigments including dimeric procyanins, anthocyanins and proanthocyanins which act as powerful antioxidants. Components B and C were identified as hecogenin and β-sitosterol respectively. In the studies, it was found that the B component promotes macrophage phagocytosis.

Anti-oxidants are widely used as ingredients in dietary supplements that are used to protect against free radical damage. Anti-oxidants also boost our immune system in general and play an important role in our overall health, helping the body reduce the risk of developing certain conditions.

By virtue of the properties of its active compounds mentioned above, Rhizoma Fagopyri dibotryis strengthens the immune system and function of lungs and builds up the body resistance to fight against disease. It also improves the tolerance of chemotherapy or radiotherapy and helps in the maintenance of overall health after such therapies.
 

 
  3. What is the function and major clinical usage for Proveq MPCB?  
  According to the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, Rhizoma Fagopyri dibotryis clears heat, relieves toxicity and clears the lungs.

Its main clinical usage is for pulmonary infections, coughing and improvement of lung conditions including those resulting from smoking.
 
 
  4. What is the recommended dosage?  
  The recommended daily dosage is 2-3 tablets twice daily.
 
 
  5. Are there any side effects caused by taking Proveq MPCB as a daily health supplement?  
  MPCB has been gone through some animal toxicity tests and human clinical trials. No adverse effects have been observed in animals or patients in our daily recommended dosage. The only side effect is mild gastrointestinal irritations, which are usually self-limiting.

  Rhizoma Fagopyri dibotryis has been used as an herbal medicine in China since ancient times, but mainly in combination with other medicinal herbs.
